My desire

I want to do something that brings glory to you Lord
Something that shows all the beauty of your word.

I want to get up and speak of who you are
Tell those who doubt that you will never be far.

I want to sing all the beauty of your name
Of who you are, what you did and why you came.

I want to share how you brought me to the light.
Out of the darkness and death, you gave me life.

I want my life to be a living testament of your great love
How your grace came  to save me through drops of your blood.

I realize this poem isn't the greatest one I have ever written but I was having a moment where everything seemed to be frustrating me so I just sat and wrote. I am turning 20 soon and I have just been feeling lately like I am doing nothing and that all i really want to do is talk about Jesus and share his word. I mean that's what I did when I was in school and it's what my life is about.

My life is about giving glory back to the Lord and doing His work. This poem is everything I want to do in life. It's everything i want my life to be. I have been really struggling with what I really want to do in life, what I am meant to be and I am thankful for the poems God allows me to write because it makes everything so much clearer and it's communication between me and God. whatever career i end up in whatever family I have I KNOW 100% that my real "job" is the work of the Lord; and that is my desire.
