The GREATNESS of our GOD.

I have been in the book of John for the last three weeks and it's taking me so long to finish it because I can't stop going back to these verses and chapters and reading them over and over again.
I started reading John not only because I like to read the bible but because I was looking for a bible verse to go along with the bible study that I am starting which is called Walking in the "Son" light! (borrowed from a good friend). Anyway, I wanted a verse that talked about walking with God and being in His light. Obviously there are a lot of them throughout the bible but John 8:12 drew me in,

When Jesus spoke again to the people he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

How many times have we heard or read that verse? How many times have we applied this verse or any verse to our lives? yeah..unfortunatly not enough and I am also so, so, so guilty of this.
And that's what God has been teaching me these past few months, to take these verses, these stories, lessons, and words of God and accuratly apply them to your life to glorify God. Because that is why we are ultimatly here, to glorify God in EVERYTHING we do. God has been showing me that through reading John. That Christ was sent to yes, die for our sins and in doing that, by dieing he was glorifying His father. And Christ knew that He couldn't do any of the things that He did without His father giving him the ability and the opportunity and the power to do so.
I have been amazed at all the things my eyes are being opened up to through reading this book fully, all the way through, for myself. I am falling more and more in love with Christ and understanding and applying the words of God to my life in everyway.

So here is something I want you to think about even if you think you already have:
We are on this earth to give glory to God in everyway. We are nothing without Him and have no true meaning unless we have Him in our lives. We breath because he allows it, we walk because he moves our feet, and any gift or hobby or relationship we have is because God made it happen. We are not in control ever. We can think we are but God is in control always and has complete, infinite power over everything. Isn't that comforting, isn't that awesome? To have someone in your life who created you and all things and is in complete control; To have a God whos greatness is so abundant.

Open up the greatest book of all time, read God's words and apply them to your life to give glory to God on high.

Who You are

Your love is greater than any human heart can give.

Your compassion is so great; You sacrificed so that we would live.

Your light shines far greater than any star.

Greatness is who you are.

Your understanding is far beyond ours.

Your courage is abundant unlike our cowardly hearts.

Your comfort will help us through when things are hard.

Faithful is who You are.

Your peace is more wonderful than we can understand.

Your wisdom is too great for us to understand.

Your Presence is always near, never far.

Goodness is who you are.

Your grace is undeserving to our sinful lives.

Your justice is absolute and always right.

Your mercy is infinite and will never part.

Sovereign is who you are.

God is so many things to us. We know He's these things but do we really sit down and think about everything that He is? and then apply it?

I have been doing a little study going through the names and attributes of God in the bible and I have to say that I have such a better understanding of How GREAT God is. I knew all of these things but I never applied them fully if I am being honest. Our God is so loving, so infinite, so just, so holy, so soverign, and so powerful. Who else is there like that? (that of course was retorical) There is none like God. He is perfect and righteous in every way. It's my prayer that we realize this to the full extent and apply it to our lives. God does not fail so we need to trust Him in everyway. Hope you all were blessed. :]

All I want is to be Yours

All I want to do is praise Your holy name.

All I want to do is speak Your word to those who don’t know of Your fame.

All I want to say is what you put on my heart.

All I want to speak of is how thankful I am that You will never depart.

Because, no matter where I am and no matter what I do I know it’s all because of you. There will be sorrows and there will be pain, but You will stand beside me through it all over and over again.

All I want to sing of is how irresistible your love.

All I want to sing is glories to You on high, above.

All I want my life to be is a testament to My powerful savior.

All I want my life to be is only Yours forever.

I wrote this poem as a way to communicate with God and and just dedicate my life to doing what His will is. Lately I have been blessed to see some of what God has been working on in my life, and others as well. It's not very often that we get a glimpse of what he is doing. We know that it is good and that he is in control but when we get to see a little bit of what He is doing it is truly, truly amazing.

This year starting school has been such a humbling experience. God has grown me up in so many ways and shown me truly how powerful He is and made my eyes open to everything that He is. That the only way I will make it is to rely completely on Him, for He is only good and ONLY He is in control no matter how hard I try.

The last few weeks God has challenged me to stand up and do something about the concerns on my heart. I am in the beginning processes of starting a bible study with some teenagers, and/ or young adults where we will be learning about who God really is. It's "funny" because this issue of not knowing our God or making Him who we want Him to be (which we all do) has been brought to my attention since I began school this past year. I am constantly saying how people just don't know who God really  is and if they did how it would change their lives (christians and non-christians) but what was I doing? absolutely nothing. UNTIL God burdened my heart to pray for some teens I know. To pray that they know God is in control and that they aren't alone. Then I knew what God wanted me to do. I apologize if this is sloppy writing but getting the feeling of excitement I have been experiencing is so hard for me to do!!! :]
The study is still in planning mode and I have people praying hard. If you are interested in the study at all or just want to help let me know! I want everyone to know who our God is!! Also, When i am talking about them and they I am not saying I am so much wiser or closer to God. I am guilty of everything I have mentioned as well. I can't wait to see what God is doing!!
